Generation GF (GGF) support groups are located across the country, providing support and education to gluten-free youth and young adults. These groups are volunteer-run just like our GIG Branches. Here is what a few of our GGF groups are doing. For a complete listing of our Generation GF groups or GIG Branches please visit www.gluten.org/community/local-branches and navigate the interactive map. To find out more or to become active locally, feel free to contact the local group leader. You may also contact the Generation GF Supervisor Stacey Juhnke at Stacey.Juhnke@gluten.org or GIG’s Support Groups Manager Bethany Trainor at Bethany.Trainor@gluten.org for more information.
Generation GF Northern New Jersey
Group Leaders: Ally & Laurie
Generation GF Northern New Jersey launched in November 2015, and we love how much our group has grown since then! We’ve become a strong community of gluten-free families from all over northern New Jersey, with children as young as three all the way up to teens. We hope to reach as many gluten-free families in our area as possible and always welcome new members. Be sure to follow us on Facebook or email us at GenerationGF.NorthernNJ@gluten.org to find out what we have planned next!
We believe that a sense of community is so important for gluten-free kids and families and that we all have something to learn from each other. We will continue to strive to empower our gluten-free kids with the information and support they need to be able to advocate for themselves—and to be a place to meet new gluten-free friends and have fun!
We are looking forward to our September event when a pediatric social worker will be joining us to lead the kids in a lively discussion and activities regarding the social challenges of growing up gluten-free. Should be an empowering and important event. Kids of all ages are welcome. To register, email GenerationGF.NorthernNJ@gluten.org. The event will be held on Saturday, September 9th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, at the Hackensack University Medical Center at Pascack Valley, 250 Old Hook Road, Westwood, NJ.

Generation GF Phoenix
Group Leader: Lisa
Generation GF Phoenix will be hosting a back to school night in August. This will include information to help get gluten-free kids off to a great start in the new school year. In September we will be having a wonderful opportunity to hear Dr. Silber, who is the head of Pediatric GI at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. In October we will be hosting a GF Picnic and “Trunk or Treat” event. After the picnic, we will be having families open their car trunks in the parking lot and passing out gluten free candy for the kids. Kids can dress in costumes and go from car to car getting GF candy. Many families go above & beyond and decorate their trunks too. In December we will round out the year with a Family Holiday Fun night. For more information on these events and our January 2018 California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) event contact GenerationGF.Phoenix@gluten.org.
Generation GF Pittsburgh
Group Leader: Melanie
We are still small and trying to spread the word about our group! For back to school, we are planning to have an event for lunch packing ideas…and looking forward to making more GF memories in the future.
Generation GF Southern Oregon
Group Leader: Caraway
Generation GF is a small, newer group that aims to be a resource for kids and families who are on the gluten-free diet in the Southern Oregon region. We provide education and support for any who want it, and have been providing magazines and educational materials to local medical practices and in articles in local magazines. When we have a larger group of members, we will be hosting fun kids events in our area.
